Who is Jesus?
Maybe you stumbled across this page and you don’t know who He is. Or maybe you want to make sure I do! Or you’re wondering why I felt the need to include a page like this on my website.
The answer is simple. Jesus saved me from everlasting punishment and gave my life purpose. I’m not ashamed to say that I owe everything I am and everything I have to Him. He wants all men and women to be saved. And you, my dear reader, are too important for me to assume you already know Him as your Lord and Savior.
No one is perfect, and everyone needs salvation. The bible says:
For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
There is none righteous, no, not one. (Romans 3:10)
Therefore, just as through one man (Adam) sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned. (Romans 5:12)
If we’re honest with ourselves, we have all done things we aren’t proud of. Things we know weren’t right. And while the world tries to downplay this, the bible calls it sin. The penalty for sin is going to hell. God is holy and just, and sin cannot go unpunished.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
God made a way for us to escape eternal punishment by willingly dying in our place and taking our punishment upon Himself. So I’m not here to condemn you. I’m here to give you hope.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. (John 3:16-17)
How can I be saved?
That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10)
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)
My friend, if you don’t know Jesus, it’s not by coincidence that you kept reading all the way to this point. There’s a yearning in your heart to be right with God and know you’re going to go to heaven when you die. But there’s also a loneliness deep on the inside of you for fellowship with your Creator. He wants this for you, too! If you’re ready to surrender your life to the Lord, pray this simple prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I know I’m a sinner and I cannot save myself. I believe you are God, that you died for my sin, and rose again from the dead. I accept your sacrifice as payment for my sin with gratitude. Come live in my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Cleanse me, make me new. I thank you that you hear my prayer, and I receive eternal life right now, and it’s in your name Lord that I pray this, Amen!
